Gee’s Bend is accessible by car (via County Rd 29) and ferry (Gee’s Bend Ferry from Camden, AL).
As cellular service in Gee’s Bend can be spotty, it is best to download maps and directions before leaving.

Ride the ferry.
The Gee’s Bend Ferry will make additional runs during the Airing of the Quilts Festival.
The ferry fare is $1 per pedestrian, with children under 12 traveling for free. Limited vehicle spaces are available on the ferry for $3 per vehicle. Ferry service may be affected by weather. Please check the Gee’s Bend Ferry Facebook page for updates.

Lodging for the Airing of the Quilts Festival fills quickly—early booking is highly recommended. Gee’s Bend (Boykin), Alabama, and the surrounding area offer a variety of accommodations to suit your preferences, from local guesthouses and campgrounds to hotels in nearby Selma.

All festival venues are ADA-compliant, with ramps and accessible bathrooms and parking.
Service Animal Accommodations: Service animals are permitted at all festival venues.
Seating and Viewing Areas: For performances, there are designated accessible seating areas with unobstructed views.
Festival Grounds Disclaimer: Please note that the majority of the Airing of the Quilts Festival takes place outdoors on the Welcome Center grounds. By necessity, vendor booths and other activities are set up on grassy or uneven terrain without paved paths. While every effort is made to ensure accessibility, attendees should be aware that mobility in certain areas of the grounds may be limited depending on weather and ground conditions.
